For comparison, during the full year 2022, Georgia purchased 880 thousand mobile phones worth $237 million. This number is equivalent to enough phones for 24% of the population.
The main countries of import are unchanged; more than half of the phones in Georgia are imported from the United Arab Emirates. The reason for this is that the UAE is one of the global hubs for the smartphone trade. It is followed by the Czech Republic, from which mobile phones worth $31 million were imported this year.
