"Another propaganda step is being taken by the occupation regime, which lacks any real implementation. Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity are recognized by the international community within its international borders. The international community does not recognize the so-called independence of the occupied territories of Georgia. Occupying regimes have repeatedly attempted similar propaganda moves to strengthen the image of an 'independent' entity, which usually ends in failure," said Mari Narchemashvili.

According to the Russian media, the so-called government of occupied Abkhazia has appealed to the UN to grant Abkhazia the status of an observer state.
