
On June 27, 2024, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the aviation authorities of Georgia and the Republic of Korea. As part of the negotiations held in Tbilisi, the technical aspects of the launch of regular operations between Georgia and the Republic of Korea, including the current situation in the aviation markets, basic regulatory standards and flight frequencies, were discussed by the aviation agencies.
In accordance with the signed memorandum of understanding, the flight frequencies were determined: the designated airlines of Georgia and Korea will be allowed to operate regular passenger/cargo flights with 7 frequencies per week.
The aviation authorities of Georgia and Korea agreed that they would actively continue to work on promoting the mentioned process.
Charter air traffic between Georgia and the Republic of Korea started in 2018. Air company Korean Air made seasonal flights in the direction of Georgia in May-June of this year.
