According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the seventh regular meeting of the Bureau was held online within the framework of the 53rd session of the UN Statistics Commission.

“The meeting of the Bureau was chaired by Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, as the Chairman of the UN ESCAP Committee on Statistics.

The meeting was attended by members of the UN ESCAP Committee on Statisticsand Bureau, the Secretariat of the UN ESCAP Statistics Division, heads of the Asia-Pacific Statistics Services and representatives of various international and non-governmental organizations. 

Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat, hailed the meeting and noted that, prior to the 53rd session of the UN Statistics Commission, its main purpose was to share views and discuss issues of regional importance, such as monitoring of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for the UN Sustainable Development, environmental protection and economic reports, climate change statistics and more.

At today's meeting, the participants also discussed the agenda and future plans of the 8th session of the UN ESCAP Statistics Committee.

At the end of the meeting, the Executive Director of the National Statistics Office, Gogita Todradze, thanked the UN Secretariat for Statistics ESCAP and the participants for their readiness to organize the event and for future fruitful cooperation,” - the National Statistics Office said in a statement.
