“The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili, the US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, the Deputy Minister Guram Guramishvili, the Head of Maritime Transport Agency Tamar Ioseliani, as well as representatives of maritime industry, partners and working group members.
According to Levan Davitashvili, the maritime transport digitalization program in Georgia with the support of the USA is very important for increasing the competitiveness of Georgia as a middle corridor.
The process of implementing the Maritime Single Window (MSW) in the port sector of Georgia is carried out with the financial support of the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency, the Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program of the US Embassy in Georgia, and the US government, and includes both software and system material support. 
With the support of the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy, the 𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐃 and the Council of Investors, the process of introducing the Port Community System (𝐏𝐂𝐒) in the ports of Georgia has already started. It should also be noted that with the support of the European Union Delegation (EUD) in Georgia, the legislation necessary for the direct development of the Maritime Single Window was developed, and the relevance of the feasibility study for the implementation of the Maritime Single Window was assessed within the framework of the USAID Economic Security Program - DAI. A regulation mechanism and training program for ship agents program were also developed, which is one of the important steps in the MSW implementation process.
The project will be implemented by the German consulting company Hamburg Port Consulting (HPC), the winner of the international tender, whose representatives, as part of the event, held a presentation and briefed the attending public on a detailed plan for the implementation of the project, taking the expected results and challenges into account", - the Ministry reported.
