According to the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, Georgia received $ 1.2 billion in international travel revenue in 2021, which is 130 percent more than in 2020. At the same time, revenues received from international travelers accounted for 38 percent of the 2019 figure.
"Our position is unchanged that we focus as much as possible on attracting touristsspending the most money, and in this regard, we are helped by direct air traffic with the EU countries, the Gulf states, etc. We are actively working to bring tourists from the countries, such as the US, China, Japan and others, to Georgia. Each tourist coming from these countries spends on average more than the number of tourists coming from our neighboring countries, whose arrival is also very important for our tourism sector. Thus, in 2022 we are going to continue working with the target countries, where we will popularize our country," - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
