According to the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia, in the months of January-August 2023, the import of petroleum bitumen amounted to 65.2 thousand tons, which is 7.2 thousand tons or 14.4% more than the indicator (58 thousand tons) of the same period of 2022.
During 8 months of 2023, the largest volume of oil bitumen was imported from Russia - 28.7 thousand tons, which is 44% of all imports. Russia is followed by: Iraq - 21.5 thousand tons (33%); Turkey - 13.3 thousand tons (20.4%); Azerbaijan - 1.6 thousand tons (2.5%); Turkmenistan - 0.1 thousand tons (0.1%);
In the months of January-August 2023, the import volume of liquefied gas (LPG) amounted to 37.24 thousand tons, which is 11.72 thousand tons or 45.9% more compared to the indicator (25.52 thousand tons) of the same period last year. During 8 months of 2023, 99.7% (37.11 thousand tons) of liquefied gas (LPG) imports were made from the Russian Federation.
