According to the information of the National Statistics Service, as for the annual change of the living wage, compared to December of last year, there is a decrease of GEL 3.8, because in December of last year, the living wage of an able-bodied man was GEL 253.5.

In December, the average (mean) living wages decreased by GEL 2.3 compared to the previous month and amounted to GEL 221.1.

The living wage is determined on the basis of the minimum food basket. The minimum grocery basket is a defined normative basket of food products, which contains the amount of food physiologically necessary for the normal life and working capacity of a man of working age, its constituent elements (proteins, fats and carbohydrates) and the minimum amount of calories.
