On Georgia's National Unity Day, Lithuania expressed its unwavering support for the Georgian people in their pursuit of a European future, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared on platform X.

"On Georgia's National Unity Day, we stand alongside the Georgian people as we reflect on the tragic events of April 9, 1989, when Soviet forces violently suppressed peaceful protesters, as well as the restoration of independence on April 9, 1991," the Ministry wrote.

"Lithuania remains committed to supporting Georgia in its ongoing fight for a future within the European community," the statement concluded.
