
With the cooperation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Joint Stock Company (JSC) Georgia Capital the first sustainability-linked bonds of Georgia Capital were issued. The ADB, as a strategic partner, provided substantial support to the company to obtain this innovative tool. This is ADB's first investment in a private sector sustainability bond.
Georgia Capital has issued a five-year bond worth USD 150 million ($). It is the largest debt obligation listed on the Georgian stock exchange and the largest sustainability-linked bond in Georgia and the Caucasus. The ADB will invest $16 million in these bonds, and the proceeds will be used to refinance investments in renewable energy and education, and support corporate activities to achieve the group's key performance indicators related to sustainability.
