According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), wholesale and retail trade, automobile and motorcycle repair (15.9%) and processing industry (11.3%) have the largest share in the sectoral structure of the gross domestic product of 2022.
Further positions are occupied by activities related to real estate (10%), construction (8%), rural forestry and fish farming (6.9%), transport and warehousing (6.4%), state administration and defense;
Compulsory social security (6.4%), information and communication (5%), financial and insurance activities (4.7%) and education (4.5%).
In 2022, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the following sectors made a significant contribution to the economic growth: information and communication (59.1%), wholesale and retail trade; automobile and motorcycle repair (10.8%), transport and warehousing (24.7%), construction (16.5%), manufacturing (10.5%), electricity gas steam and air conditioning (29.3%), accommodation and food service activities ( 14.6%).
A decrease was noted in the following sectors: health care and social service activities (-16.3%), real estate-related activities (-3.7%).
