The participants of the well-known large-scale project "Let's GET LOST with WIZZAIR" will be hosted by Kutaisi and Imereti region from August 26-28. After Great Britain, Spain and Austria, Georgia will become the first country where such an unprecedented and large-scale project will be implemented, - the press service of the United Airports of Georgia reports.
As part of the competition, about 200 influencers and bloggers from the United Arab Emirates were given free travel tickets by the airline; a special charter flight took off from Abu Dhabi, and the destination was unknown to the project participants before landing at the Kutaisi International Airport. Out of 600 applicants, the airline selected 200 passengers, who will be guests of Imereti region for three days. They will visit the sights of the region, protected areas, cultural heritage monuments, wine cellars and gastro houses.
The initiative to implement the project in Georgia belongs to the leader of the Georgian aviation market - airline Wizz Air and their subsidiary Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. The organizers of the project are the Kutaisi Airport Operator Company - the United Airports of Georgia, DMO IMERETI and the National Tourism Administration of Georgia.
According to the United Airports of Georgia, as a result of the project, the airline company expects to increase the frequency of flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi, helping the entry of high-spending tourists into the country.
At this stage, flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi and vice versa are performed with a frequency of 4 times a week. During the existence of the Kutaisi International Airport, it has been possible to perform direct regular flights to the Middle East since December 2021.
