Konstantine (Mindia) Esadze to be new president of Georgian Film Academy

As the Georgian Film Academy reported, Konstantine (Mindia) Esadze was elected President of the Georgian Film Academy under the decision made at the extraordinary conference of the Film Academy, which the absolute majority of the members (150 members) of the Film Academy participated in and they made their choice by secret ballot, electing Konstantine (Mindia) Esadze as President of the Academy.

6 members of the Film Academy were running for the presidency of the Film Academy. As a result of the ballots counted by the Election Commission, the votes were distributed among the candidates as follows:

1. Konstantine (Mindia) Esadze 80 votes -53.7%;

2. Giorgi Toradze 38 votes - 25.5%;

3. Giorgi Gurgulia 12 votes - 8.1%;

4. Genadi Tsaava 9 votes - 6%;

5. Ketevan Janelidze 7 votes - 4.7%;

6. Elguja Burduli 3 votes - 2%.

One ballot was canceled.
