At the Georgia-Hungary Intergovernmental Summit in Budapest, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the shared values that underpin the strong partnership between the two nations.
“Georgia and Hungary are connected by common values, and this unity of values, we believe, is what strengthens the partnership and friendship between our countries and governments,” Kobakhidze stated during his address.
He expressed deep appreciation for Hungary’s pivotal support in Georgia obtaining EU candidate status. “When Georgia obtained candidate status, your contribution was particularly significant, and today, as we follow our EU path, your support is of tremendous importance to our country and the Georgian people,” he noted.
Kobakhidze extended his gratitude to the entire Hungarian government for its continued defense of Georgia’s interests on the international stage and stressed the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation.
“We have very close political cooperation, very close political relations, which is expressed, among other things, in the fact that we have very frequent meetings and intensive exchange of visits,” he said. “It is in our interest to deepen and develop this political cooperation even further. The summit format is a very good opportunity for this.”
He concluded by reaffirming Georgia’s commitment to intensifying political dialogue with Hungary and utilizing the intergovernmental summit mechanism to strengthen these growing ties.
