“In January-February 2022, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Georgia amounted to 13.1 million US dollars, which is 54.6% more than the amount observed in the same period last year (8.4 million US dollars),” - MTI RK reports.
Exports of Kazakh goods fell by 13.8% amounting to $ 6.1 million.
According to QazTrade (a key operator for measures to support Kazakhstan's exports), in January-February, Kazakhstan did not export oil and gas, however, increased supply of rolled products (up 9.6 times to $ 1.8 million), ferroalloys (up 3.1 times to $ 1.7 million), wheat (58.6%), coke and semi-coke to Georgia. The supply of shaving products, deodorants, bath compositions increased 30.1 times (from $ 12.7 to $ 381.9 thousand).
Ferroalloys, ferrous metal structures and coal are also mainly exported to Georgia from Kazakhstan.
Imports to Georgia from Kazakhstan increased 5 times in January-February 2022 and amounted to $ 7.0 million. Exports of mineral waters (19.6 times to $ 4.3 million), natural grape wines (3.5 times to $ 1.3 million), sweet mineral and aerated waters (5.9 times to $ 779.6 thousand), alcoholic beverages (65.9% to $ 253.8 thousand) were largely increased.
Imports of goods such as vaccines, blood serum, otherwise prepared or canned fruits, nuts have decreased.
In late 2021, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Georgia amounted to $ 88 million, including exports with $ 28.1 million, while imports with $ 59.9 million.
