“Kazakhstan considers the Trans-Caspian international transport route through the Poti and Batumi Ports to be even the most optimal logistics solution for trade with distant Brazil. This was announced by the Director General of the Kazakh Joint Stock Company QazTrade, Azamat Askaruly, at the Kazakh-Brazilian Trade and Investment Forum in São Paulo,” - the Agency Trend reports based on the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
"In the current geopolitical situation, the development of a trans-Caspian international transport route is a priority for bilateral trade with South and North America, the European Union and Africa," – Askaruly said.
He said that despite the long distance between Kazakhstan and Brazil, there are many logistics routes for the delivery of goods today by multimodal as well as air transport, however trans-Caspian routes require the least amount of time.
"It takes an average of 55 days to transport goods from the port of Santos to Almaty via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor and the ports of the Black Sea, Poti and Batumi, while similar time is required farther away from the Baltic ports and it will take 65-70 days to deliver cargo from Chinese ports," - Azamat Askaruly stated.
