The national company of Kazakhstan, the operator of the largest railway network Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) will be transformed into a national transport and logistics company. Cooperation with the global transport and logistics companies and the creation of a terminal network outside the Republic of Kazakhstan are expected within the framework of the mentioned project. The Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbaev announced this at the government meeting.
"Within the framework of the company's transformation, cooperation with other transport and logistics companies such as PSA, DBShenker, CoscoShipping, DPWorld and others is offered. Cooperation will take place through synchronization, elimination of bottlenecks and creation of a joint digital corridor, which will provide operational access to transport documentation and international markets," - the Minister said.
Another important area of work will be the creation of external terminal networks in the ports of Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. It is also planned to strengthen the state regulation in KTZ's operational activities by participating in corporate decision-making, harmonizing tariff policy and increasing operational activities.
It is also proposed to create a national scientific and applied development base for the further development of the transport and logistics industry.
"Implementation of these activities will be included in the concept of development of the transport and logistics potential of Kazakhstan until 2030," - Kairbek Uskenbaev stated.
He also said that in order to strengthen the transit potential of Kazakhstan, the projects were implemented to build and modernize the transport infrastructure.
