Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili criticized U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson following his support for the MEGOBARI Act, stating that Georgian society sees him as someone who “deliberately spreads false information” and contributes to “unfriendly attitudes” toward the country.

“Joe Wilson is lobbying for the deterioration of Georgia-U.S. relations,” Botchorishvili said, adding that the MEGOBARI Act contains nothing that could be considered friendly.

“Anyone advocating for this document cannot be seen as a supporter of stronger Georgia-America ties,” she concluded.
