The Japanese Ambassador Ishizuka Hideki recently conferred the Ambassador’s Commendation Award upon Irine Danelia, Director of the National Botanical Garden of Georgia, in recognition of her significant contributions to fostering cultural relations between Japan and Georgia.
According to the Embassy of Japan, Danelia has actively promoted cultural exchange since assuming her role in 2021. Her initiatives include organizing the annual Cherry Blossom Festival at the Japanese Corner of the Botanical Garden and hosting tea ceremony talks and demonstrations in collaboration with the Embassy.
During the award ceremony, Ambassador Ishizuka presented Danelia with a certificate of commendation, commending her dedication to promoting “friendship and goodwill” between the two nations through her cultural initiatives.
The Ambassador’s Commendation Award, granted by Japanese ambassadors and consuls-general worldwide, honors individuals and organizations that contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and fostering enduring ties between Japan and their respective countries.
