As the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili reported, during the Georgian PM’s visit to the Emirates, the issues of economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
“We have very successfully completed the first round of the negotiations in September, which involves the signing of an agreement on comprehensive economic cooperation between the two countries. As our colleagues have confirmed, at the beginning of next year, it will be possible to sign such an agreement between the countries after the end of the second round, which includes the affairs of free trade between them, which is very important for us,” - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili said.
As he noted, as part of the agreement, it will be possible to encourage investments in Georgia, which is very important for the country's economy.
“The Emirates is one of the developed countries with a GDP of around 400 billion euros. Georgia is also developing very dynamically, and I think that the potential for economic cooperation between the countries is quite large, and we will be able to make tangible results, which will help the development of our country's economy," - Levan Davitashvili stated.
