The Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili, together with the Georgian delegation, will pay a two-day official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The delegation includes the Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development - Guram Guramishvili and Romeo Mikautadze, JSC "Georgian Railway" Director General Davit Peradze and General Director of Oil and Gas Corporation Giorgi Bakhdze.
The Georgian delegation, led by the Deputy Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili, will hold high-level meetings with the Azerbaijani officials, including the Prime Minister of the Republic. Meetings are also planned with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Parviz Ogtay, the Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.
During the meetings in Baku, the parties will discuss the issues of deepening ties between the two countries and even closer cooperation in various sectors.
For reference, Azerbaijan is a traditional strategic economic and trade partner of Georgia in many sectors. According to the data of the first two months of 2022, Azerbaijan is the number three trade partner of Georgia. The trade turnover between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan amounted to 248.81 million dollars, which is 49% more than the figures observed in the same period last year. During the same period, exports to Azerbaijan amounted to 92.34 million dollars, which is 39% more than the figures observed in the same period last year.
