
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced the appointment of Irakli Beraia as Georgia’s new Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Mr. Beraia brings extensive experience in national security, intelligence, and foreign affairs to the role. He previously served as Deputy Head of the State Security Service and as Head of Georgia’s Intelligence Service. In Parliament, he chaired both the Defence and Security Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee, and led the Georgian parliamentary delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
In addition to his legislative experience, Beraia has held several key executive positions, including Director of the National Investment Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Director of the Reforms and Development Agency within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
His appointment comes at a time of continued strategic engagement between Georgia and NATO, reinforcing the country’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic integration.
