
On September 14-15, the USAID Agriculture Program in partnership with TBC Bank is hosting the International Forum on Berries in Batumi.
The forum provides an opportunity for industry specialists and experts to gather and discuss the challenges, which will help to increase the competitiveness of the local berry industry and strengthen the position of Georgia as a berry producing country.
Local and international experts (from Serbia, Italy, Portugal, Poland) participating in the forum will share their experience on the methods of growing berry crops. At the same time, they will discuss modern agro-technologies, problems faced by berry crops producers and berry export opportunities.
The problems faced by the producers of berries and the possibilities of their export will be considered. Also, the marketing tools that can be used to increase the competitiveness of the berry crops sector are to be discussed. The forum participants will learn about the best financing mechanisms for berry culture and get information on the best practices and support.
The representatives of the Ministries of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, donor organizations and berry producers from different regions of Georgia are participating in the forum.
