The international festival Europalia-Georgia was opened in Belgium. The King and Queen of Belgium, Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Tea Tsulukiani, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khatuna Totladze, members of the Parliament, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium and others attended the ceremony.
The government of Georgia supports the festival. Georgia is represented as a guest country at the International Culture Festival for the first time this year.
From October 4 to February 2024, large-scale and diverse events will take place in Belgium and its neighboring countries. The festival is a unique opportunity to present the history and culture of Georgia in the political center of Europe, especially in light of the expectation that Georgia will be granted the status of a candidate country for the EU membership at the end of the year.
The international culture festival Europalia is held every two years. During four months, festival guests will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the rich and diverse cultural heritage and art of Georgia.
Within the framework of Europalia-Georgia, about 60 events will be held in Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
