Zaza Shavadze summarized the one-year activities and spoke about the plans of the agency for 2024.

The chairman of the government of Adjara positively evaluated the activity of the Ministry of Agriculture and noted that next year the Ministry will have an increased budget, which is aimed at even more large-scale support of local farmers.

Speaking at the event, Otar Shamugia focused on the projects implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture together with the government of Adjara.

"Together with the Ministry of Agriculture of Adjara, we are implementing about 15 projects to help farmers and entrepreneurs. These projects cover the entire value chain giving us the result that, in the last ten years, agricultural production in the country has increased by 112 percent and exports have increased by almost 150 percent.

This year we will see the record figures in these directions. A few days ago, the Prime Minister summed up the past year. I think everyone is happy about the fact that the country has made tangible progress. Adjara has an exceptionally high potential, many directions that are increasingly used and provide an opportunity to create more wealth and increase the well-being of the population", said Otar Shamugia.

The Minister also spoke about the direction of environmental protection and emphasized the current reform in the forestry sector, which is being implemented after the adoption of the Forestry Code. Otar Shamugia also touched on the challenges in the background of climate change and noted that both in the whole world and in Georgia, joint work on climate change is actively underway in order to get concrete and tangible results.

At the event, Minister Otar Shamugia and Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze congratulated the present community on the EU candidate status and thanked everyone who contributed to the decision making process.
