According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the II quarter of 2022, 1,049 thousand international non-resident travelers entered the territory of Georgia, which is 198.7% more than the figure of the same period in 2021.
The largest part (47.0%) of travelers were aged 31-50. Out of the mentioned number, the number of visits made by international visitors amounted to 922 thousand, which is 176.2% more than the indicator of the same period in 2021.
In the reporting period, 749 thousand international tourist type visits were recorded, which is 145.0% more than the indicator of the same period of the previous year.
The largest number of arrivals in the II quarter, 147.7 thousand, was recorded from the Russian Federation, which is 19.3% of the total number of visitors. Turkey ranked 2nd with a 14.9% share, and Armenia – 3rd with a 12.1% share.
In the second quarter of 2022, most visits (52.0%) were recorded for the purpose of vacation, entertainment and recreation.
