The number of transit trailers passing through Georgia is increasing again to a record. In October, 39,301 trucks paid the road usage charge to the country's budget. The total amount is GEL 13.755 million.
When comparing the data of October 2022 with the data of October 2021, the number of trailers passing through the corridor increased by 37% or 10,735 units.
According to the data of the State Treasury of Georgia, in January-October, the revenue received from the road usage charge exceeded GEL 98.53 million.
Revenue from the road usage charge:
• 10 months of 2022 - GEL 98.53 million
• 10 months of 2021 - GEL 54.38 million
The increase in the revenue from the road usage charge was provided by two factors - freight shipments increased in the corridor of Georgia, as well as the price of the road usage charge has increased since 2022. If each trailer moving on the roads of Georgia paid GEL 200 for the road usage until June 20, 2022, after June 20 the tax increased to GEL 350.
