“Georgia’s economy grew by 11.6% in May compared to the same period last year,” - according to a report released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) today. In the first 5 months of 2022, the total economic growth rate was 11.2%.
"In May 2022, compared to the same period last year, the economic growth rate was observed in almost all sectors. The following sectors contributed significantly to the growth rate: transport and storage, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, hotels and restaurants, manufacturing, construction and mining industry," - the report published by Geostat said.
According to Geostat, the turnover of the private sector in May, i.e. the turnover of VAT-paying companies was GEL 10.4 billion, which is 25.3% more than the revenue reported last year.
