In January, remittances to Georgia up by 163.5% annually

In January 2023, the volume of remittance flows into the country amounted to 445 million US dollars (1190.9 million GEL), which is 163.5% (276.1 million US dollars) more than the similar figure of January 2022.
According to the data of the National Bank of Georgia, 97.7% of money was transferred to Georgia from its 21 largest partner countries, from which the volume of remittances exceeded 1 million US dollars each in January, accounting for 92% of all remittances.
In addition, according to the NBG, in January 2023, 26.3 million US dollars (70.3 million GEL) were sent abroad from Georgia, which is 12.7% more than the similar figure of January 2022 (23.3 million US dollars).
