
As per the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, in January-October 2022, exports increased by 34% amounting to $4.5 billion. Out of this, local exports have increased by 35% amounting to $3 billion 100 million.
"In January-October, the trade turnover exceeded $15 billion and increased by 33% compared to the previous year," - Levan Davitashvili noted.
While evaluating the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), the Minister also emphasized the dynamics of investment growth. According to him, the year 2022 was positive in terms of attracting direct foreign investments to the country.
"In January-June 2022, the volume of direct foreign investments increased by 102.0% compared to the previous year and reached %922.9 million, while compared to 2019, the increase is 62.5%. The share of the European Union in direct foreign investments equaled 42.5%", - the Economy Minister stated.
