In January-February 2023, Georgia purchased 3,353 tons of oil worth $4.5 million. According to official statistics, the value of oil import in the first two months of the year exceeded the indicator of the same period last year by 51.2%, while the volume - by 75.1%.
During this period, oil was imported from 7 countries, although the main import market was Russia. Russian oil has a 92.7% share in the total import. The import of goods from this direction has doubled in 2 months.
The ranking of Georgia's top trading partners by imports according to the value of oil imports is as follows:
1. Russia - $4.1 million, 3 151 tons;
2. Ukraine - $187 thousand, 118 tons;
3. Belarus - $74 thousand, 50 tons;
4. Azerbaijan - $40 thousand, 22 tons;
5. Turkey - $12 thousand, 7 tons;
6. Italy - $4 million, 2 tons;
7. France - $4 thousand.
