EastFruit analysts studied the wholesale prices for blackberries and raspberries. According to the survey conducted on August 19, these two products are ranked second and third according to the rate of the annual price growth. Red sweet pepper remains at the top of the list.
The average wholesale price of blackberries is $1.40 per kilogram, which is 50% more compared to the value of the same period in 2021. As for raspberries, their price is $3.60 per kilogram, which is 40% higher than the last year's price.
Blackberry season ends in August. Prices may increase slightly when supplies are exhausted. As for raspberries, in September producers will harvest for the second time. Farmers hope that high prices will persist as drought has adversely affected yields. Poor quality directly affects the price of the product. The cost of quality raspberries is likely to remain high.
