
As the National Bank of Georgia reported, in August 2023, the volume of remittance flows into Georgia amounted to 287 million US dollars (752.6 million GEL), which is 14.1% (47.3 million US dollars) less than the similar indicator of August 2022.
This month, the largest remittance of $60.3 million was made from Russia, which is a 45.6%-decrease compared to the same period of the previous year. Russia's share in total money transfers is 21%.
Italy ranks 2nd with $45 million (annual growth of 23%), the third is America with $40.2 million (a 37.6% increase), the fourth is Germany with $20.4 million (a 33%-increase), and the fifth place is occupied by Greece with $20 million (a 6%-increase).
