
“As of April 2022, Georgia's economy grew by 2.6%,” - according to the report released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) today. As the document says, the economic growth in the first 4 months of 2022 was 10.8%.
"As of April 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, the economic growth was observed in the following sectors: transport and warehousing, hotels and restaurants, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, financial and insurance activities, arts, entertainment and recreation, mining industry.
"A declining trend has been observed in the construction, manufacturing, professional, scientific, technical and trade sectors," - the GEOSTAT report said.
The turnover rate of the Georgian private sector (VAT paying companies) in April amounted to GEL 9.7 billion, which is 11.7% more than the rate observed in the previous year.
The economic growth was also positively impacted by a 32.8% increase in exports.
