“An unprecedented rate of tourism recovery was recorded in Adjara,” - the government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara reports. As the chairman of the government of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze, noted at the government session held today, according to statistical data, the indicators of the recovery of tourism in Adjara are ahead of the expectations and forecasts of the World Tourism Organization.
"In Adjara, we have an unprecedented rate of tourism recovery, and this year is expected to be a record year in terms of tourist traffic and income. It is important that we maintain this dynamic. For this purpose, appropriate events are planned, which will be carried out by both the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara and other Agencies,” - said Tornike Rizhvadze.
The head of the government of Adjara spoke about the tourism development policy and noted that a growing and positive dynamic of tourism recovery was observed in Adjara.
"We have a complete recovery in Adjara from the point of view of domestic visits as well. The demand has increased in the direction of Kobuleti, Gonio, Sarpi, Kvariati and the mentioned resort areas. According to preliminary research, the occupancy of hotels in August will be at least 90%.
It is also important that the 2019 figure has been fully restored in terms of flights, and already in August more than 400 flights are planned at the Batumi Airport alone. This means that the dynamics that we had in 2019 has improved in terms of air traffic as well.
It is important that international flights are being actively restored and new destinations are being added. During August, the Batumi Airport is scheduled to perform 400 flights," said Tornike Rizhvadze.
It should be noted that in July, 370 international flights from 12 countries were performed at the Batumi Airport.
