The import volume of second-hand clothes into Georgia is increasing. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January-July 2024, 6,173 tons of second-hand clothes worth $21.9 million were imported into the country. The data show that the country's import of second-hand clothes has become cheaper, since the volume of purchased clothes has increased by 9.6% annually, while the value has decreased by 4.3%.
Turkey is the main supplier of second-hand clothes for Georgia. In more detail, according to the data of 7 months, the import of clothes by countries is as follows:
Turkey - $8.2 million, 2,275 tons;
The USA - $3.2 million, 254 tons;
The United Arab Emirates - $1.8 million, 699 tons;
The United Kingdom - $1.78 million, 626 tons;
The Netherlands - $1.6 million, 310 tons;
Belgium - $1.3 million, 423 tons;
Pakistan - $995.7 thousand, 795 tons;
Germany - $530.7 thousand, 133 tons;
Italy - $427.9 thousand, 129 tons;
Spain - $398 thousand, 108 tons.
Apart from these countries, second-hand clothes and products are imported from Poland, India, Lithuania, Israel, Austria, Canada, Jordan and other countries.
