
In the first five months of 2023, 419 thousand tons of ice cream worth $2 million 103 thousand were imported to Georgia.
According to official statistics, ice cream imports increased by 28.4% in value and 9.1% in volume compared to the same period last year, which means that the price of ice cream in import markets has decreased. In addition, it is noted that the import of ice cream from the main importing countries - Turkey and Russia - has decreased, while the import of goods from Ukraine has increased.
During January-May, ice cream was imported to Georgia mainly from 10 countries. The ranking of Georgia's top trading partners by ice-cream import is as follows:
1. Turkey - $677 thousand, 123 tons;
2. Russia - $486 thousand, 71 tons;
3. Ukraine - $388 thousand, 105 tons;
4. France - $208 thousand, 36 tons;
5. Armenia - $169 thousand, 55 tons;
6. The United Kingdom - $51 thousand, 3 tons;
7. Belarus - $45 thousand, 12 tons;
8. Kazakhstan - $39 thousand, 8 tons;
9. Germany - $24 thousand, 3 tons;
10. Spain - $12 thousand, 1 ton.
