
"Promoting exports and, in general, increasing export competitiveness is an important priority of the Georgian government, and in this direction, the government implements a number of programs through various agencies. Positive trends in the direction of foreign trade continue this year as well, we already have January-August data, according to which exports increased by 14.3% and amounted to 4.1 billion USD," - the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Vakhtang Tsintsadze, said.

According to him, it should also be emphasized that in January-August the trade turnover increased by about 17% and its volume equaled 14 billion US dollars.
As the Deputy Economy Minister noted, the growth of exports is an important factor contributing to the high growth of economic activity in the country.
“The further growth of the export potential, diversification and qualitative improvement of the export structure represent an important direction of the economic policy of our country, which positively affects the growth of the competitiveness of the private sector and the creation of new jobs. Taking the existing trends into account, we expect that 2023 will also be a record year in the direction of foreign trade turnover and export, just as in 2022 we had record figures in all directions in foreign trade," - Vakhtang Tsintsadze said.
