Compared to the first quarter of 2023, the number of international visitors to Adjara has doubled. Accordingly, the income from tourism and travel increased by 102%. The region is being actively promoted. Millions of viewers of BBC, EUronews, DW are familiar with Batumi's tourist opportunities. The number of international visits to Batumi Airport has also increased [by 42%]. From June, flights from Dubai, Tehran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia will be added to the existing destinations.
Batumi is the host of many international events in 2023. The city has hosted the Fencing World Cup, the European Rural Tourism Assembly, International Full Contact Karate Tournament. Such important and international events as the UEFA European Under-21 Championship and the World Tourism Awards gala event are planned in Batumi.
