Syria ranks first in the number of asylum seekers in Germany. In 2023, 104,561 Syrians applied for asylum in Germany. The top five are followed by Turkey (62,624), Afghanistan (53,582), Iraq (12,360) and Iran (10,206).

8,414 people applied for asylum in Germany for the first time from Georgia, which is in the sixth place. Germany accepted 0.3% of asylum seekers' applications from Georgia.The German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees published statistics for the last three months of 2023, according to which the number of asylum seekers from Georgia decreased. According to statistical data, 448 people requested asylum from Georgia in October 2023, 417 in November, and 351 in December.In total, 351,915 people applied for asylum in Germany in 2023, which is 51.1% more than the previous year.
