In 2022, compared to the same period of 2021, the air freight market in Georgia shrank by 2.18%.
According to the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, it is clear that in 2022, the volume of cargo transported by air amounted to 17,974,852 tons, and in 2021, it was 18,376,172 tons, posting a 2.18% decrease.
In 2022, compared to the cargo flow handled by the Tbilisi International Airport in 2019, a 27.52% decrease was recorded. In 2019, the airport handled 24,800,741 tons of cargo. In 2020, the Tbilisi International Airport handled 20,052,940 tons of cargo, which means that in 2022, compared to the same period of 2020, there was a 10.36% decrease in cargo turnover.
