In 2021, honey exports from Georgia increased at record rate

Georgian honey exports increased by 696%. According to Geostat [National Statistics Office of Georgia], in 2021, 173 tons of Georgian honey were exported to various markets, most of which, 143 tons, were sent to the European countries.
In 2020, 21.71 tons of honey worth 122.55 thousand US dollars were exported from Georgia, while – in 2021, 172.92 tons of honey worth 657.32 thousand US dollars.
Top-5 countries, where Georgia sold its natural honey last year are given below:
- Bulgaria - 188.33 thousand US dollars (76.44 tons)
- France - 309.12 thousand US dollars (65.40 tons)
- Russia - 7.52 thousand US dollars (10 tons)
- Qatar - 26.25 thousand US dollars (4 tons)
- Kazakhstan - 17.28 thousand US dollars (3.93 tons)
