According to the data of the first quarter of 2023, the revenues received from international travel (tourism) compared to the same period of 2022, increased by 102% and amounted to $795 million.
"In the first quarter of 2023, the revenues from tourism exceeded the level of 2019 by 37.5%. Tourism receipts from the EU increased by 64.7% in the first quarter of 2023, from Turkey - by 136.1%, from Israel - by73.2%, etc..
In the 1st quarter of 2023, several countries, including the European Union, Turkey, Israel, Armenia and others, have high rates of travel receipts, while in the same period, compared to 2019, the EU, Israel, Saudi Arabia and other countries are also distinguished by the level of recovery of tourism revenues", - the National Tourism Administration of Georgia stated.
