Imports from Russia to Georgia decreased, exports increased

The trade turnover between Russia and Georgia decreased slightly last year. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), the turnover between the two countries in 2023 amounted to $2.401 billion and in 2022 it was $2.478 billion.
In 2023, imports from Russia decreased, while exports from Georgia (including local ones) increased. Last year, Georgia bought products worth $1.744 billion from Russia, and in 2022, $1.835 billion. As for exports, in 2023 Russia exported products worth $657 million (local export - $541.7 million), and in the previous year - $642.4 million (local export - $526.8 million).
