
In 2 months this year, compared to the same period last year, imports from the Eurasian Union countries into Georgia increased by 67.6%. In particular, according to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January-February 2023, products worth 428,383 million USD entered Georgia from the mentioned countries, compared to 255,581 million USD in the same period last year.
For reference, the Eurasian Economic Union unites Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The GEOSTAT data showed that in 2 months this year, products worth $874.2 thousand were imported from Kyrgyzstan into Georgia, compared to $329.4 thousand in the same period last year (with the 165% increase).
During the reporting period, products worth 70,095 million were imported from Armenia into Georgia, in January-February 2022 - 60,015 million US dollars (with the 16.7% increase). In 2 months this year, goods worth $338,824 million were imported from Russia into Georgia,while in the same period of 2022 - $181,902 million (with the 86.3% increase).
The revenue from the products imported from Belarus in January-February 2023 amounted to $15,523 million, while in the same period of 2022 - $9,869 million (with the 57.3% increase).
A slight decrease is recorded only in the imports from Kazakhstan. In January-February, products worth $3,067 million were imported from the country, while in 2 months last year - $3,466 million.
