In 2022, 426.7 tons of buckwheat worth 438.5 thousand US dollars were imported to Georgia. Of these, only 3 tons were imported from India. The remaining 423.2 tons are Russian buckwheat.

The list of top 5 companies and their owners, who imported the largest amount of buckwheat to Georgia this year is as follows:

Gidan Ltd - the company was registered in 2008. Emzar Geladze holds 90% of the shares, while Guram Beridze - 10%;
Import to Georgia LLC - Davit Gogoladze holds 75% of the shares and Alexander Gogoladze -25%. The company was registered in 2015;
ID + Ltd. - Zurab Gabodze owns 100% of the shares of the company, which was registered in 2020;
Geo-Impex Ltd - Tamaz Menteshashvili owns 66.6% of the shares of the company, while Giorgi Davituri - 33.3%. The company was founded in 2016.
"Tengiz Patsatsia" - individual entrepreneur is ranked 5th in the list.
