The import volume of live reptiles (including snakes and turtles) into Georgia has almost doubled. In the 9th month of 2024, 0.89 tons of live reptiles worth $37,760 were imported into Georgia.

It should be noted that in 2023, the import value of live reptiles in Georgia was relatively less and amounted to $22,740, and the volume was 0.49 tons.

According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), more than 80% of the reptiles were imported from China.

During the reporting period, reptiles were also imported from Hungary and Russia.
