Import of meat into Georgia is increasing sharply. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in 9 months of 2022, meat and meat food by-products worth of $112.9 million were imported into the country, which is a record mark and exceeds the figure ($92.3 million) of the same period of 2021 by 22.4%.
Compared to the previous year, exports increased by 61.6% and the revenue amounted to $31.2 million in January-September of this year.
As for the importing countries, in the list Brazil ranks 1st, which imported products worth of more than 40 million into Georgia; Turkey ranks 2nd with the revenue of almost $13 million, and China ranks 3rd with the revenue of $9.7 million.
As for exports, Georgia's top-three trading partners by exports are Armenia ($13.4 million), Turkmenistan ($7.8 million) and Azerbaijan ($5.4 million).
