Temur Ketsbaia, the former Newcastle United midfielder and ex-head coach of the Georgian national football team, on Thursday expressed his confidence about the prospect of the team’s performances at the ongoing European Championship in Germany following their defeat in the debut match against Turkey.
“I am proud of how the Georgian national team played. We played well and with quality, Georgian fans didn't stop [rooting for the squad] in the stands and probably everyone brought their family member, relative or friend's voice to Germany. We are participants in a historic event and I believe we will play even better in the next matches. We passed our first exam with flying colurs and thanks to everyone who made this day so memorable”, - Ketsbaia said.
Georgia will play Czechia and Portugal in the remaining group stage fixtures.
