At a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze praised Hungary as Georgia’s most steadfast supporter in its pursuit of European Union membership.
“Hungary remains the strongest supporter of Georgia’s European integration,” Kobakhidze said, highlighting Hungary’s consistent backing during challenging moments. “When Georgia faced artificial obstacles on its path to European integration, Hungary was the country that did its maximum to support Georgia’s European integration.”
The Georgian leader expressed heartfelt gratitude for both the warm hospitality extended during his visit and Hungary’s long-standing political support.
“I would like to thank you very much for your warm hospitality in Hungary, and I would like to thank you even more for the strong and unwavering support, which is greatly appreciated by the Georgian people,” he said.
He also underscored Hungary’s firm stance in support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “No less important for us is the support we receive from Hungary—personally from you, Mr. Prime Minister, and from the Hungarian government—on Georgia’s EU integration path,” Kobakhidze concluded.
